Folk Club 40th anniversary

This year Kiveton Park Folk Club celebrates its 40th birthday;
the first meeting was held on Tuesday March 14th 1970.
Every Tuesday, every week, every year for 40 years, the Club has been open
and that’s certainly worth celebrating.

So, on Saturday, March 13th 2010,
we’re having a free folk day of music, singing and Morris,
starting at 12 noon, ongoing until 11.00 pm.

We hope it will be an occasion for a re-union for many old friends,
from our beginnings at the Lord Conyers,
then The Waleswood as well as our time latterly, at the Cricket Club.
We are also offering a cordial invitation to members of our fellow folk clubs in the area.

It will be a continuous sing-around,
varied by session music,
Morris dancing from Lord Conyers and a series of short spots by invited guests.

The final 2 hours will be the usual Folk Club format
to finish in traditional Kiveton fashion with plenty of gob-oppening choruses
and rounding off with singing ‘The Leaf’ which has been our finale many times over the last 40 years.

We look forward, very much to seeing you on the day.
Do come along to sing, play or just mingle and chat with old mates.

Food will be available and the bar will be well-stocked
